  1. I came across your guitar blog and was wondering whether you would be interested in writing a guitar book for us. Quantum is a part of quarto (www.quarto.com) which is a packaging publisher based in London but we sell books internationally and are currently looking for an author to create original content (including a contents list) for two titles: Acoustic Guitar – An Illustrated History and Electric Guitar – An Illustrated History.

Both books will follow the same format and need to be written in the same register, which is why we would prefer to have one writer for both. They both need an introduction with a historical overview and then 500 words about 100 guitars (so roughly 50 000 words per book) which will be arranged as an a-z directory. The final manuscript date is July 14th, but we will require a contents list by this Thursday (25th) and a sample chapter by Sunday/Monday morning London time to send to clients. We prefer the typescript to be submitted in batches so that we can copyedit while you write, and payment will reflect this.

Does this sound like something you would be interested in? If you feel you can commit to these deadlines and have enough knowledge to put together two books, please do email back with questions and – if you’re ready to have a contract drawn up – your address so we can get the project started asap.

    Many thanks

    Valeria

  2. hi there, I can’t find your contact information but your web design layout looked off on firefox and opera. Anyways, i just suscribd to your rss.

  3. Just ran across you while tooling around the web. I thought you might like to hear about my very unique HD-28. it was made in the middle of 1993. Inside stamp reads HD-23 but it has a large Sound Hole and custom inlay (Old 45 snow flake). When I sent the number into Martin they claimed it is regestered as an HD-28, but hey tell me sometimes the custom shop does special work on them at times and records are not always clear. Also they Claim that the wrong top could have been put on in the factory, but in any case it is a Great sounding guitar and to me priceless. You can see photo on my web site: Davidchristian.Org
